Chloe Osborn is an Australian Paralympian, who’s ready to take the swimming world by storm! Recently, she competed at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games where she won silver in the Mixed 4x100m freestyle relay 34pts, marking a key milestone in her journey as an elite athlete.
Chloe’s love for sports began with soccer, but at the age of 12 her life was turned upside down by a diagnosis of Ewing Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer in her spine. The surgery to remove the tumor resulted in nerve damage and a spinal injury, preventing her from returning to contact sports. However, undeterred, Chloe’s physio introduced her to swimming, and from that moment on she channeled her incredible focus and energy into the pool.
Despite challenges, Chloe’s competitive spirit thrived as she quickly rose through the ranks. In 2023, she was selected as a member of The Para Flippers Development Squad before selection for the Australian Swim Para Team that competed at the Para Swimming European Open Championships in 2024.
As an S7 classification swimmer, her work paid off when she qualified for the 400m freestyle and 100m freestyle individual events in the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games as well as competing in the 4 x 100 34pts relay and 4 x 50 20pts relay.
Chloe has always aimed to achieve high, and although her path changed, her dream of representing Australia never wavered. Beyond her personal achievement, Chloe hopes to inspire others, spreading awareness and hope for the next generation of Para-athletes.
